Adults living with diabetes
A place to explore diabetes distress, burnout, identity, changing routines, relationships, and the persistent mental load of care.
Services
Diabetes-Focused Psychotherapy® addresses the emotional, cognitive, and day-to-day challenges that can be overlooked in a standard medical visit.
The work
Managing diabetes is a complex, full-time endeavor. Blood glucose shifts, social pressures, questions about the future, and the constant work of self-management can all shape emotional well-being and relationships.
Diabetes-Focused Psychotherapy® provides a clinical space to talk about the parts of you that can feel invisible: feeling isolated, guilt, anger, grief, fear, and the impact diabetes has on how you move through the world.
Who this supports
A place to explore diabetes distress, burnout, identity, changing routines, relationships, and the persistent mental load of care.
Developmentally responsive support for young people learning to make sense of diabetes in school, friendships, family life, and growing independence.
Guidance for the whole household as it learns to communicate, share responsibility, and make room for every member’s needs.
A structured way to address the misunderstandings, strain, and empathy gaps that diabetes can introduce in close relationships.
A secondary track
Diabetes-focused psychotherapy is the primary focus of this practice. A limited addiction track is available as a smaller, secondary area of support.
Therapy may include cognitive-behavioral, psychoanalytic, and patient-centered approaches, combined with personalized diabetes education, so the work can stay connected to your real life.
