During this class, we are going to learn how to identify the triggers that cause your frustration. It is relatively easy to determine that you are frustrated about having to test your blood sugar, but there many hidden causes that we are going to address during class. We are going to look at how frustration builds upon itself, becomes almost impossible to deal with as well as methods to stop the build up. We will also discuss Self-Care Behaviors that can be used to reduce and help manage frustration.

Compliance is one of the most important factors, when it comes to DSME. Using a case study, we will explore the need for individualizing DSME. The presentation will look at ways to improve compliance by focusing on the patient’s individual needs and their reasons for motivation. It will explore the need for emotional support to help patients thrive and how to find unique places to get support.
